Harvest Service
This year we have been invited back by St Giles’ Cathedral to assist them with their Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sunday 5th October.
Harvest allows us to recognise and raise awareness of the importance of Scottish agriculture and pay tribute to the farmers and food producers for their exceptional efforts and who work around the clock to make it all possible.
A massive thank you to the following for helping with this year’s 2025 harvest:
Produce:
Arnprior Farm
Denholm Potato Growers
Lidl
Neil Thomson, RHASS Director
Machine:
Thomas Sherriff, Haddington

2024 Harvest
The Harvest service, held on Sunday, 27th October 2024, was the first official event organised by the RHASS 2025 Presidential Initiative and celebrated the RHASS presidency returning to the Strathclyde area, marking a significant milestone for the community. It provided a meaningful opportunity to recognise the vital role farmers play in feeding the nation, while also acknowledging the challenges faced by those in the agricultural sector.

2023 Harvest
In 2023, we brought a CLAAS combine harvester from Preston Hall Farming into the centre of Edinburgh for the event as well as a seasonal fruit and vegetable display, generously displayed provided by local farmers from East and West Lothian, which was donated to local Edinburgh local charities.
