RHASS supports #Farm24

On August 4th 2022, #Farm24, run by Farmer's Guardian since 2015 and sponsored by Morrisons, celebrates farmers and the incredible work they do every day to provide us with produce as well as safe guarding our beautiful countryside.

RHASS decided to show support for this fantastic initiative by highlighting tasks done by our very own RHASS directors.

Firstly was Kay Adam over at her family's Farm!

'At Newhouse of Glamis Farm, we are halter breaking these bulls heading to the bull sales in the spring of 2023.
Halter breaking, is teaching the bulls to stand while tied up and to walk with a rope halter on their head, they soon
learn to be lead around this way ready to be shown at the bull sales , similar to teaching a dog to walk on a lead!'
Neil Thomson gave an insight into what's happening on his farm!
'We are planting broccoli using the latest technology of a robotic planter on a very dry day!
The plants come in trays of 325 plants that are picked out of the trays by the robot and placed into cups that drop the plants into the ground at the rate of about 15000 plants per hour.
The plants will be harvested in about 100 days time, hand picked, floretted and sent for freezing.'
With a bit of help from his nephew, RHASS Director Bryce Sloan invites us to watch the video below to see what
happens on his farm with these lovely cows getting milked eating and lying in luxury bedded mattress’s in a
controlled environment!
Meet Jim Warnock, our new RHASS Chairman Where do chicken nuggets come from?
