Vacancy: Fundraising & Sponsorship Paid Internship

 

The Royal Highland & Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) is seeking a graduate for a paid six-month internship in its Fundraising and Partnerships department. This is a part-time role for 3 days per week in the first instance, with regular days to be agreed with the line manager.

This opportunity will suit a graduate with agricultural and business knowledge who would like to gain further experience in commercial and charitable partnerships in the food and farming sector, and to contribute in the fast paced and demanding lead up to and during the Royal Highland Show in June 2018.

The role requires someone who can learn quickly, has a ‘can do’ approach and is confident in taking initiative in a busy department. Time management, meeting deadlines and the ability to think on one’s feet will be important as will the ability to get on with a wide range of people within the Society and externally. Excellent attention to detail and customer service, and strong communication skills are key to the role.

There will be opportunities to learn about the wider work of RHASS and to undertake special projects.

Skills & Experience
In addition to the above, the following skills and experience are sought:

Required

  • IT literate with excellent knowledge of all Microsoft applications including Excel
  • Excellent administration and organisation skills
  • Capable of managing and prioritising workload
  • Problem solving skills 
  • A good level of commercial awareness 
  • An interest in rural, food and farming life

Desirable

  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics
  • Experience of fundraising or sponsorship activities

Salary c £18,000 pro-rata
